Nigerian Government Pospones School Resumption, 2020 WASSCE Indefinitely


The Federal Government has canceled the resumption of schools for graduating classes.

This was announced by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, while speaking to State House Correspondents the weekly Federal Executive Council presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday.


 
Adamu also disclosed that 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE, has been postponed indefinitely.

This, he said was due to the spread of the coronavirus disease in the country.

Adamu also explained that Nigerian schools will not reopen any time soon until it is safe to do so.

According to the minister, he would prefer Nigerian students lose an academic year than to expose them to dangers.

School Resumption: Students Are Smiling As FG Submit Guideline To NASS For Reopening Of Schools.

This i belive is the news that most Nigerian student have been waiting for following the submition of guidelines for reopening of schools nationwide by the federal government to the national assembly (NASS) as reviewed by minister of state for education chukwuemeka Nwajiuba. Indeed we all know how long schools have been closed by the government in a measure to prevent rapid spread of the covi-19 pandemic and ever since student have be clamoring for when news like this will come in considering the reopening of worship centers.
