School Resumption: Students Are Smiling As FG Submit Guideline To NASS For Reopening Of Schools.

This i belive is the news that most Nigerian student have been waiting for following the submition of guidelines for reopening of schools nationwide by the federal government to the national assembly (NASS) as reviewed by minister of state for education chukwuemeka Nwajiuba.

Indeed we all know how long schools have been closed by the government in a measure to prevent rapid spread of the covi-19 pandemic and ever since student have be clamoring for when news like this will come in considering the reopening of worship centers.

Chukwuemeka said the ministry have submit plans to the national assembly to reopen schools nationwide as he stressed on how the educational sector can be moved forward in this pandemic.

Chukwuemeka said if the Senate has not called they would have gone to them on the matter of school resumption because they have already met with house of representative.

He said the document are presented to them so that they can also have their say as major stakeholders.

Akon Eyakenyi vice chairman of the committee express concern that the academic calendar could be affected by public schools where no arrangement have been made to teach student at home considering their private schools counterpart.

The chairman expressed concern that even when the schools in the city have access to radio and television education what about those in the village.

The intriguing part of the statement read thus;

"If the government can give guidelines for reopening of churches and mosque, stakeholders in the educational sector could also hold a meeting with the government to agree on guideline for reopening of schools".

He said all they need to do is to come up with measures for both student and teachers that will ensure safety for both of them.

He further said that they can make it in such a way that not all schools will resume at once that's to say batch by batch so they will start with the final year student and then gradually.

He added that they will also design it in such a way that they will have number of student that will go to school both morning and afternoon section.

He concluded that the ministry have to be innovative at this critical time to save the educational sector because nobody knows how far this pandemic disease is going to last.
